Indoor Cat’s Guide to… Premiere Week!

Tonight is the night, friends- the night the magic really starts. Sure, we’ve had a few premieres here and there- some good, some really really not- but tonight is the night the majority of shows kick off. New and old, tonight starts the real premiere week.

Here are some of my big questions for this television season:

  • Will How I Met Your Mother really end this season, and if so, are we meeting the mother sooner or later? (We’ve been promised a major step forward in tonight’s premiere, so I’m personally jazzed about it)
  • Will 2 Broke Girls say “vagina” more or less this season? I know, I know, some of you might be thinking can you even say “vagina” more than they did last season? It’d be difficult, but if any show can manage, it’s that one.
  • Will Castle avoid the Moonlighting curse now that (spoiler alert but is it really since it was the season finale a whopping 3 months ago?) Beckett and Castle have hooked up?
  • Is Schmidt’s penis-t really back in working order on New Girl, and more importantly, will he try to get CeCe back after White Fang-ing her last season? And how much closer will we get to the inevitable Nick and Jess hook up this year? Season finale hook up or keep us ‘shipping?
  • Will Cragen be cleared on SVU, or is he about to need some soap-on-the-rope?
  • Will everyone else like the Last Resort pilot as much as I did? And will the rest of the show be as good, or will it fizzle out? (Let’s hope real hard for the former!)
  • Who else will die on Grey’s Anatomy this year? Is Eric Dane going to get killed off, or ride off into the sunset so that he can possibly guest star in future episodes? Same with Jessica Capshaw, since Shandra Rhimes has been awfully mum on Arizona’s arc this season? Also, will the gimmick episode this season be as awesome as “If/Then” or as awesomely awful as “Song Beneath the Song”?
  • Who is Quinn Perkins? And will I care about Scandal at all any more once I know?
  • HOW IS FRINGE GOING TO END?!
  • Which new fairy tale characters will we meet on Once Upon a Time this season, and will we meet Henry’s dad this season? How will the residents of Storybrooke deal with the return of magic?!
  • Who will win The Amazing Race and will I care, or will it be yet another season of me deciding who annoys me the least?
  • How hot/dirty will Kalinda and her ex-husband be on The Good Wife?
  • Who will die this season on The Walking Dead? I’ve read every single one of the comic books, so I have my guesses/hopes, but I also hope the show keeps diverging from the books to keep things fresh.
  • How many more episodes of The Mob Doctor will air before it gets the axe? My guess is tonight’s the final night.
  • Which show will be the next cancelled?
  • How many of the new shows will actually see second seasons?
  • How few hours of sleep can I get by on in order to watch all the shows I watch?! (That’s not really a new-season question, just a lifestyle question.)

  1. I find it interesting how many shows seem to be ending this season, some major players in the prime time line up. Which leads to wonder if any of the new shoes will survive because of the void opening up next season? It does seem that there are less drama shows premiering this year (or is it just me?) I too wonder how much interest Scandal will be after we find out who the heck Quinn really is.

    • Well, I do think some shows will get left on longer because the network doesn’t have strong mid-season replacements for the shows, and I do think mediocre shows will get second season try-outs (like Up All Night got this year) in order to fill schedule holes if the pilot season isn’t strong. Really, it’s less about the shows that are actually one the air and more about the shows in development- especially when the shows on air are performing sub-par.

  2. Wanted to let you know I nominated you for Readers Appreciation Award, check out http://introvertedknitter.wordpress.com/ for details.
